Air Duct Filter Installation
In order for your air duct system to work cohesively, you will also need to install an air duct filter. The air duct filter is installed on the exterior of the duct so that any dust and dirt that is present in the air can be filtered and trapped through this filter. The filter itself is placed into the duct or the main duct for which the surrounding ones are attached. This allows central air circulating through the ductwork to be filtered and cleaned.
Air Duct Filters Air duct filters are fairly easy to install, and after installing the first couple, you will eventually get the hang of it. You can purchase air duct filters at your local hardware store or directly from us if you need further assistance in determining which one is most suitable for your air duct system. You can schedule our air duct filter replacement services on a regular basis and we will arrive promptly to replace your air duct filters with new ones, as needed. Installation As mentioned previously, installing air duct filters is relatively easy and only requires unscrewing the panel surrounding your air duct. We can then slide the old air duct filter out and replace it with a new one before securing it in place and reattaching the exterior frame. During the installation process, we can also clean and vacuum around the area to remove any dust particles that have fallen during installation or when reattaching the air duct frame. Finding the Right Filters It can be tricky to find the right filters, but fortunately, we are here to assist you every step of the way. Not only will we assess the type of filter that you need, but we will recommend how to purchase them in multi-packs along with the right size so that you can have perfect filters each and every time. We can assist in installing the filters that you have purchased or can sell them to you directly, depending on what is easier for you. We always recommend investing in actual filters with frame inserts, versus filter films because the filter frames are more durable and able to trap more dust and allergens and particles. When to Replace There is no set time for when you need to replace your air duct filter, but if you notice that your air quality is much lower, you have more allergies than usual, or the air has an odd smell to it whenever your central heating or air conditioning system comes on, then it may be time to replace your air filters. We recommend doing so every season, especially before you anticipate using your central air system more frequently. Most air filters are visible through the air duct frame, so you can see how much build-up is present and have a better indication of when you should replace it. If you are more sensitive to allergies or dust, then you will want to consider replacing your air duct filter more often. |
